LAVENDER CAVES

Rise up
Here

Here at the ocean
The water's scarlet
The sun comes up like breath
And lingers in the air
It's impolite to stare

I take my perch on a handy conch
And watch a paddle launch
And turn into a sail
With a phosphorescent trail

I like the fishy
They're very fishy
Stand in the sand
So rich and squishy to the toes
As all the water flows

I like anemones
They're thick and sticky
I like the kelp, so slick
Yet gummy to the touch
As all the waters rush

Then when it's time for a break
We go down to the caves

in the waves
